Boy are there a ton of them out there. Most of the ones I look at did not interest me. But that does not say I won't run across some of interest in the future.
I have been listening to StoryCorps.net for the past year. It is a super project. I became so interested in it I played some of the stories to the library advisory board and library director. The director like them too so I suggested we could do our own oral history recordings and also take some excerpts and put them as podcast on the library web site. Well it is in the process of happening.
One of the local banks donated 7 office cubicle panels we are going to use in our meeting room. Four panels will be used to a create space for the kids story hour and three for a recording studio to do our oral history recordings. From the recordings, with the person's consent, we will post excerpts for them and create our own story podcasts.
We will use the free down load software Audacity to make the recordings then export the file as an MP3 file.
